On 8. October 2008, in the Centre for Technology in Media and the Arts (ZKM) in Karlsruhe, the EnBW Energie AG Baden-Württemberg honoured its best suppliers with the „EnBW Suppliers Award“.
This award symbolises the high demands made on the performance of suppliers and so represents a mark of quality for each of the suppliers concerned. HOPPECKE ‘s award was made in the category of Environmental Protection.

As the only battery manufacturer in Europe, HOPPECKE operates its own recycling foundry for lead-acid batteries, thereby making a substantial contribution to careful husbanding of resources. The benefits of HOPPECKE’s Aqua-Gen recombinator also made HOPPECKE worthy of the award. Through this product, the after-sales costs of battery installations are considerably reduced. Moreover, drastic improvements in the ventilation of battery rooms minimise hydrogen concentration and so reduce hazards to personnel.
