  • 1927 Foundation of the company by Carl Zoellner
  • 1967 HOPPECKE revolutionises the market for starter batteries with the first batteries installed as standard in PP-boxes
  • 1973 Introduction of the Employee Equity Participation
  • 1976 Construction of a smelter for lead recycling in Brilon
  • 1977 Start of the foundation of 19 foreign subsidiaries
  • 1985 Hopecke Battery Systems is established in Bloomfield, NJ, USA
  • 1994 Certification of all factories according to DIN ISO 9001
  • 2000 Use of the first HOPPECKE energy storages for the intermediate storage of regenerative energy. Hoppecke Battery Systems changes its name to HOPPECKE Batteries, Inc. and moves to Cherry Hill, NJ
  • 2006 Commissioning of the first turnkey charging stations made by HOPPECKE
  • 2011 Delivery of the first lithium-ion systems for intralogistics
  • 2012 Signing of the first contract regarding energy availability in UPS, which provides for the rental of a battery installation and it’s monitoring in a computer centre
  • 2014 Signing of the first contract regarding energy availability in logistics with a large, worldwide operating beverage producer, which provides for the usage-based invoicing of energy in the charging station
  • 2015 HOPPECKE North America opens a new manufacturing and warehouse location in Hainesport, NJ
  • 2022 The ISO 9001: 2015 Certification is granted to HOPPECKE North America
