The connected and intelligent logistics of the future were the central theme of the leading international trade fair CeMAT (23 to 27 April, Hanover Fair). HOPPECKE presented integrated and connected energy solutions and innovative products for the electric drive of industrial trucks. CeMAT was held this year as part of the Hanover Messe. A total of 210,000 visitors came to the joint event, more than a third of them from outside Germany.
The intralogistics industry is currently particularly concerned with the opportunities to digitally control workflows and transports in warehouses. HOPPECKE product manager Dr.-Ing Manuel Strugholtz presented the possibilities of the "networked traction battery" in a specialist lecture. All batteries and charging stations in a fleet can be networked, evaluated and controlled. This optimizes usage and loading times, which reduces costs and increases the service life of components.
Among the visitors to the HOPPECKE stand was the President of the Federation of German Industries (BDI), Prof. Dieter Kempf. He informed himself about current topics and economic perspectives of German industry at the Hanover Messe and CeMAT. Together with BDI Managing Directors Iris Plöger, Holger Lösch and Joachim Lang, Kempf discussed ideas with representatives of the HOPPECKE management. CEO Dr. Marc Zoellner and Michael Hilmerich, Head of the Traction Batteries Division, spoke to BDI representatives about current economic issues and prospects.
On the final day of the fair, more than 30 HOPPECKE employees took advantage of an invitation from the company and took part in a group trip to the fair. Michael Hilmerich, head of the Motive Power business unit, personally welcomed them at the stand. Fred Gadalla (Head of International Sales Motive Power) and Lukas Hamm (Product Manager Service) then explained the stand and the exhibits to their colleagues and reported on their discussions at CeMAT.
CeMAT is the world's leading trade fair for intralogistics and supply chain management. Around 1000 international exhibitors presented themselves on a total area of around 80,000 square metres.
