When a Chinese delegation sets out on a journey from Shanghai via Warsaw all the way to Stuttgart and Hoppecke—and all in a Chinese minivan…
…that can only mean one thing: the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is on the road as part of its European roadshow.

What is the BRI?

The “Belt and Road Initiative (BRI),” also known as the “New Silk Road,” is an international initiative to promote economic cooperation, technological exchange, and cross-border networking between Asia, Europe, and other regions.
The focus is on infrastructure, industry, logistics, energy, and innovation—key topics for modern intralogistics and industrial energy supply as well.

Delegation Trip from Shanghai to Europe

As part of this initiative, an international delegation from the fields of industry, logistics, and technology is currently on an extraordinary European roadshow:
Over the course of 38 days, the group will travel approximately 30,000 kilometers—from Shanghai through several countries to selected European industrial companies.
The goal of the trip is to engage in direct dialogue with local companies, familiarize themselves with technologies, and establish long-term partnerships. The itinerary shown in the photo illustrates the scale of this initiative and the numerous stops along the route.

Visit to LogiMAT on Mach 25

On March 25, as part of their trip, the delegation visited LogiMAT in Stuttgart, the leading international trade fair for intralogistics solutions and process management. LogiMAT offers an ideal platform for discussing innovations, market trends, and technological developments in direct dialogue with international exhibitors and partners.
HOPPECKE was also part of this exchange and was able to position itself at the trade fair as a competent partner for industrial energy systems, traction batteries, and solutions for automated and mobile applications.

Company visit to HOPPECKE on March 27

A special highlight of the trip was the delegation’s visit to our Hoppecke facility on March 27. As part of a company presentation, the guests gained a comprehensive insight into:

  • the HOPPECKE Group and its international focus
  • the product portfolio of industrial energy storage solutions
  • technological expertise, quality, and sustainability “Made in Germany"

The in-person exchange on-site provided an opportunity for technical discussions, getting to know one another, and exploring potential avenues for future collaboration.

Significance for HOPPECKE

The visit underscores HOPPECKE’s international visibility and the growing importance of energy systems in the global context of logistics, automation, and Industry 4.0. At the same time, it demonstrates how important direct dialogue across national and cultural boundaries is for driving innovation and developing shared perspectives.
