Since 1927, HOPPECKE has been producing energy storage systems in Brilon-Hoppecke. The company is celebrating this in the coming months together with employees and the public. At the start, employees and retirees met at various locations around the world to officially start the anniversary year. At the headquarter in Hoppecke, the managing director of the family enterprise Dr. Marc Zoellner celebrated the opening together with his father Claus who had led the company for 37 years until 2003 as well as his youngest son August.
The jubilee flags were also raised across generations. At present there are more than 20 former employees who are older than 90 years. The celebration was also attended by the most senior staff member, Rudolf Bunse, who has been working for HOPPECKE for 62 years.
"We are grateful for many things. But more than this, we are particularly grateful to many people who have not only accompanied the company over the past 90 years, but have also developed it further. We can be proud of this and are going to celebrate this together," said the managing director Dr. Marc Zoellner.
The Zoellner family thanked the employees in different languages. People from 23 nationalities are working at the HOPPECKE headquarter. Some of the 20 subsidiaries worldwide also celebrated the start of the anniversary year, for example the large production sites Wuhan and Liyang in China.
HOPPECKE is celebrating its 90th anniversary until the end of this year. Numerous activities are planned.
