For the fifth time HOPPECKE is present at the leading Ukrainian electrical and industrial fair Elcom (April 17-20, Kiev Expo Plaza). Besides China and Hungary, Germany is Ukraine's largest trading partner for electrotechnology. HOPPECKE is represented in the so-called German Pavilion alongside numerous other leading German companies.
Over 220 exhibitors from 12 countries will be exhibiting at this year's Elcom Ukraine. The fair has grown again compared to the previous year, this year a further hall has been added to the exhibition area. HOPPECKE has been active in Ukraine since 2012 and has been participating in Elcom Ukraine for the fifth time since 2014.
Elcom Ukraine was opened by Ukrainian Energy Minister Natalya Boyko, who was particularly satisfied with the large number of newly established companies in the energy and electrical engineering sectors in Ukraine. 80 of them are already taking part in the fair this year. As a result, the market for exports to the Ukraine is naturally also growing. International market leaders report double-digit growth for 2017 and the first quarter of 2018.
The German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (ZVEI) states that German exports of electrical engineering increased from EUR 408 million in 2016 to EUR 506 million in 2017. At the same time, exports of electrical engineering products from the Ukraine grew by 11% and amounted to EUR 544 million in 2017. Ukrainian Energy Minister Boyko has already visited the German Pavilion. She emphasised that she is very pleased with the cooperation between the two countries.
HOPPECKE supplies batteries to power stations in the Ukraine, for example, to secure the power supply. HOPPECKE will be participating in new tenders this year with good chances. Elcom Ukraine has also been very successful for HOPPECKE so far and has already brought good discussions and new contacts.
