HOPPECKE location in Italy: An all-round team for proximity and short response times - Thursday, 28.03.2024

Located in Cinisello Balsamo, just 10 km north-east of the metropolitan city of Milan, Italy’s economic and financial centre, HOPPECKE’s Italian subsidiary has been synonymous with outstanding customer service and battery expertise for over 30 years.

An all-round team

A dedicated team of 30 employees looks after the needs of HOPPECKE customers in Italy. The team covers all application areas, including trak, grid, sun, rail and service.HOPPECKE’s long-standing customers in Italy include telecom operators, railway and metro system manufacturers, OEMs for UPS systems, national and local transport operators, energy suppliers, EPC companies, local forklift truck dealers and global OEMs for forklift trucks.

Proximity and short response times

Geographical proximity to customers and a deep understanding of their individual needs are key success factors for HOPPECKE Italy. The close support provided by a team of key account managers takes centre stage and promotes the development of long-lasting partnerships.
In addition, the outstanding customer proximity is reinforced by the in-house service team and fast response times. The team mindset is designed to promote continuous process improvement, quality along the entire process chain, collaboration and transparency. This contributes significantly to the excellent customer relationships.

Operations take place on a 2,000 square metre facility that includes offices, storage, assembly facilities, maintenance areas and a dedicated battery charging room. This means that replacement traction batteries can be delivered within a week, in order to respond flexibly to customer enquiries and needs.

The HOPPECKE service: guarantor of Italian success

The Italian service team provides maintenance, testing and repair services for forklift fleets and for a wide range of industrial customers, including electricity suppliers and railway operators. Recently, a temperature- and hydrogen-controlled loading bay with gas extraction was commissioned to carry out on-site testing and maintenance work on rail, reserve and traction batteries.
In the rail business unit, the team has extensive experience and expertise in battery maintenance. Multi-year contracts with major train operators speak for the team’s competence. Every month, between 50 and 100 nickel-cadmium batteries from passenger trains, underground trains or trams are checked, maintained and, if necessary, replaced. The coordination of the orders and the availability of spare parts are crucial here.
In the standby battery market, the Italian team has been working with telecom operators for over 10 years and carries out about 100 installations a year throughout Italy.

Project competence: everything from a single source

Both technology giants and local data centre operators are expanding their presence in Italy, and Milan is a key hub. The team at HOPPECKE Italy knows how to take advantage of these opportunities and was only recently able to demonstrate its project competence in an important project. In just three months, 4,200 UPS batteries were replaced in the main data centre of a pan-European commercial bank with over 15 million customers. The project included the rearrangement of the battery rooms, electrical, mechanical and structural work, battery installations and commissioning – with everything from a single source

Proximity and fast response times
to customers, coupled with professional expertise,
are the key to our success.
