Milestones

• 1927 Foundation of the company by Carl Zoellner
• 1967 HOPPECKE revolutionises the market for starter batteries with the first batteries installed as standard in PP-boxes
• 1973 Introduction of the Employee Equity Participation
• 1976 Construction of a smelter for lead recycling in Brilon
• 1977 Start of the foundation of 19 foreign subsidiaries
• 1994 Certification of all factories according to DIN ISO 9001
• 2000 Use of the first HOPPECKE energy storages for the intermediate storage of regenerative energy
• 2006 Commissioning of the first turnkey charging stations made by HOPPECKE
• 2011 Delivery of the first lithium-ion systems for intralogistics
• 2012 Signing of the first contract regarding energy availability in UPS, which provides for the rental of a battery installation and it’s monitoring in a computer centre
• 2014 Signing of the first contract regarding energy availability in logistics with a large, worldwide operating beverage producer, which provides for the usage-based invoicing of energy in the charging station
• 2015 The new office building at the headquarters in Hoppecke is opened. Highlights are the spacious light-flooded office areas, the product exhibition, the new conference and meeting rooms as well as the large roof terrace
• 2016 HOPPECKE China Wuhan celebrates its tenth anniversary with all employees and their families.
• 2017: HOPPECKE celebrates its 90th anniversary. Following the motto "We together", Dr Marc Zoellner opened the anniversary year on 7 July, which was celebrated worldwide with various employee events. 
• 2018 HOPPECKE agrees with Vivarail, a British rail vehicle manufacturer, on the long-term battery supply of Class 230 battery-powered trains
• 2019 HOPPECKE bundles competences and lithium experts in one company, INTILION GmbH. INTILION GmbH, with locations in Zwickau and Paderborn, is the result of the renaming of HOPPECKE Advanced Battery Technology GmbH
• 2020 HOPPECKE receives the silver medal from EcoVadis for its sustainable activities. With a score of 64 out of 100 points, the company is ranked among the top 25% of the companies evaluated by EcoVadis
