Dr. Bernhard Riegel appointed to the German Energy Storage Advisory Council - Thursday, 16.02.2017

Dr. Bernhard Riegel, the director of HOPPECKE Research & Development, has now been appointed to the German Energy Storage Advisory Council. This Advisory Board advises the Federal German Ministry of Education and Research on strategic research planning in the area of electrochemical energy storage.
The Advisory Board is composed of representatives from universities, non-university research and industry. It advises the Federal Ministry, for example, by evaluating existing studies and deriving recommendations for action. Furthermore, the Council itself pushes studies and roadmaps, and formulates recommendations on programs and thematic clusters. The German Energy Storage Advisory Council also engages in the Umbrella Project Battery 2020 where several research and development projects are connected and supported.
In the Advisory Board personalities are appointed who demonstrate significant experience and expertise in the field of battery research. The first conference Dr. Bernhard Riegel took part in was in Frankfurt on February 15.
